Note: You need to read May Day first.

Picking up a few months of May Day's ending, Judgement Day continues the story of Jack Valentine and her work with the Seekers who investigate vampires who threaten to expose their existence to humans. What starts as a murder investigation quickly morphs into a conspiracy and treason investigation with squirrely vampires, disingenuous celebs, and brilliant scientists. Jaffrey's beloved characters return, a little bit older, a little bit wiser, but with their most relatable characteristics fully intact. I enjoyed Judgement Day more than May Day; the relationships (personal and professional) are more developed (of course) and the intrigue goes deeper. We also start to form a picture of how Cam joined the Solis Invicti. Like many Silverse fans, Cam is my favorite character, and I've wondered how someone so considerate, warmhearted, and honest was recruited to join the elite personal army of the vampire king. I'm wondering what will happen with him in the third book. And that's not even mentioning Jack's girlfriend drama, which makes the reader's stomach turn in knots on her behalf. Judgement Day is everything I wanted in a Silverse installment. I just hope Jaffrey keeps them coming.
