Okay, I didn't expect this to give me goosebumps, but it did. It’s that good!
Sunday is a testament to the possibilities of imagination when a kid gets bored enough with the usual routine to do something about it. We follow Martin as he seeks a playmate among the adults, but does not find an available companion. With is dog, he decides to explore the world, and we see his grandparents' apartment transformed into desert, rainforest, icy tundra...the list goes on. We can see the world as Martin sees it and no longer follow so much as accompany him on his creative voyage. Beautiful art and minimal text transport us to distant lands and allow us to play make believe. If you liked Bored, you'll like this too. And if you haven't read Bored, you need to read both of these books with your kiddo.
