Bored

Mom's Review
"That's wonderful!" was always my response with Son would say, "I'm bored." It's no secret that times of boredom allow kids the space to imagine and create and invent. And that's just what Rita does in Bored. I love way that Rita handles her boredom. She finds ways to occupy herself to the point of imagining all the bored people in the world coming together, which leads her down a rabbit hole of imaginings. Before she realizes she's doing it, Rita has created a whole new world where people make discoveries and art. The ode to the value of boredom is essential in this time of pervasive screens and scheduling that allows children hardly an unoccupied moment. Every child who ever complains of boredom should read this!
