Imagine a demon-hating demon. Succubus Lily (a half-demon who never preys on humans) is the assistant DA in San Francisco and works to bring justice to the city through legal channels. It is she who demons enlist to uncover the succubi killer in the city. Reluctantly, she becomes embroiled in both a covert investigation and a cover-up of the murders, keeping the victims' true identities secret. As Lily's half-hearted investigation proceeds, she becomes a target, which prompts her to delve more deeply into uncovering the demon-slayer.

Conspiracy theories, powerful media, and money in politics underscore a suspenseful storyline populated by compelling characters. Add to that a heavy dash of sexual tension, and you've got Cambion's Law. Fulmer's narrative keeps the adrenaline pumping and the reader on the edge of her seat. Moreover, Fulmer's demonology makes for an intriguing world to dive into.  I was so effectively drawn into Lily's world that I was surreptitiously reading during our weekly movie night! T was not pleased when he saw what I was doing, but I had to find out who was killing the demons. And once I found out, I had to find out how justice would be rendered. I have to leave it at that to ensure no spoilers.

Cambion's Law is a fun, fast-paced urban fantasy mystery with likable characters and unexpected twists that I flew through.
