The gold stars and title on the cover are eye catching - this book feels magical before you even crack the spine. And oh boy, there's a map! The story is indeed magical, and it's about magic! The story is funny and endearing, the illustrations are sweet, and the world creation is delightful. In all, The Star Tree is an enjoyable story to read and reread. Anthropomorphic forest dwellers have to figure out why a tree is suddenly raining stars. The ensuing events are entertaining, keeping the reader engaged and curious to see what will happen next. With comic-style panels and speech bubbles, the picture book makes for great shared or independent reading.
