The Little House that Needed a Witch

Mom's Review
Just look at that Baba Yaga house on the cover, looking so friendly! How could you not want to read The Little House that Needed a Witch? This is indeed a friendly story of a house who journeys through the land seeking a new witch to inhabit it after the old witch vacated it. The illustrations and characters the house encounters are absolutely lovely - I would want to live in any of the houses depicted here, but one of my favorite details is how the old witch becomes part of the forest as a tree that grows and blooms by the end of the book. I think young readers will uncover different details in the illustrations each time they listen to the story, and the story itself is told through sparse text that encourages a young audience to use their imaginations to flesh out the world built within the pages. Any little kid who likes magic or witches (the friendly kind) should read The Little House that Needed a Witch.
