Oh how I have missed Rosalind Thorne! It was such a pleasure to try and unravel the mystery with her. While the title lets you know she's going to get abducted, that is just a smallish detail. The mystery is a complex web of deceit that Rosalind unravels at the request of a woman whose father is set to wed a suspicious woman who has managed to turn his home into an illegal gambling den. Set in Bath, we have a mix of aristocrats and commoners, horseracing and parties, assignations and marriage proposals. This installment builds on the previous novels and develops the relationship Rosalind has with her best friend and with her beau organically and satisfactorily. I could not stop reading The Abduction and recommend the whole series to historical mystery lovers and cozy fans alike.
