I know these books are intended for little kids, but I learned so much about concrete mixers! Also, I work right next to a construction site where all the things that were happening in this book are actually happening, so it was really cool to have it all explained!
Little kids interested in trucks can get so much from this series! The pages are full-color photographs, with details labeled and inset explanatory text. The font is large and bold, so emergent readers can follow along and share the reading. The content is high-interest. Everything about the We Deliver It! series makes for a positive reading experience for a young audience. In looking at five books in the series, I noticed that each title page features a driver, and the drivers represent men and women of different races - kids get the impression that anyone can drive a cool construction/transport vehicle from the visibly diverse drivers featured throughout all the books. These are great books! They offer a comfortable read-aloud experience for the adult and information at a level of specificity that children and adults will both appreciate. The age range of the intended audience is 5-8, but I think you can go substantially younger, particularly if your toddler is all about trucks.
