I love the embroidery style of artwork that runs across the pages and echoes the embroidery in which the expectant mom is engaged. Each page offers a short message from her to her growing baby, offering a welcome to the world and an assurance of love until the baby ultimately arrives. This sweet story will resonate with new moms and soon-to-be-moms who are building their babies' libraries - the young freckly woman's belly is getting progressively larger as the messages reference the increasing size and development of the "little passenger." Little Passenger is a beautifully illustrated message of love from a parent to a child, which is not new unto itself, but the way in which the baby is addressed and the depictions of the mom preparing (and the cat watching), and the embroidery theme set this book apart as something special. Sullivan and Love have created a unique and valuable addition to the "Welcome, baby!," genre. Little Passenger is must for book showers.
