Mom's Review
Beatrice and the Nightingale is a magical story of a nightingale who sings alongside a world-famous cellist in her garden and is broadcast by the BBC. And I use the term magical figuratively, for this is a true story. Beatrice was a cellist prodigy who travelled the world in the early 1900's. This brief biographical picture book conveys the value of following one's passion as well as the the value (and beauty) of music and nature. The narrative draws the reader to Beatrice's side and allows them to experience the joy she does in when playing cello and the wonder of playing in nature and communicating with another species. A must-read for young string players!
