Mom's Review
Twelve Daring Grays gave me goosebumps. It is the story of a minority group of whales who leaves the pod to feed on ghost shrimp in shallows almost 200 miles off their designated route. The way that whales teach one another and institute new practices is amazing to me, and the narrative that conveys the peril of this detour conveys just how daring the dozen whales are who chart the new course. Beautiful illustrations accompany this moving story, and be sure the read the back matter. A win for whales and a must-read for cetacean lovers.
