Mom’s Review

The Story of Passover begins with Jacob's arrival in Egypt, the enslavement of the Hebrews, the major events in Moses's life, the plagues, and the parting of the Red Sea. The story is conveyed in a tone that balances excitement - it's pretty action-packed - with reverence for God. I was disappointed to note that the reason for the Angel of Death passing over the homes of the Hebrews was not mentioned, but that omission is easily remedied by the reader talking to the listening child. I really like the artist's style, the characters are expressive and the events depicted without being too graphic for a young audience. Adler and Weber's The Story of Passover is a worthwhile addition to the Easter season/Passover bookshelf.

Back matter offers more information on the Passover Seder.
