Mom’s Review

Off the Wall is a celebration of childhood collaboration and invention. When one brightly colored child (Vermillion) begins drawing with her own color of chalk, another (Robin) joins, then another (Green), and another, until you have a rainbow of children creating art/a game involving themselves, the chalk, the wall, the bike they crashed, and the ice cream they spilled. However, a fight erupts over who gets to use what and who is using it "better." When Vermillion calls for everyone to, "Stop!" they do and manage to reset themselves and have fun. The creativity and conflict resolution are great underlying messages in a colorful story about having fun.

My only complaint is that the red text on the brown background is difficult to read - you might have to shift how you hold the book to get the light to hit the page just right.
