I thought I knew where My Tiger was headed, but the surprise twist ending is hilarious! Cowley and Barrow offer a conscientious boy as a cake-eating tiger's caretaker. Readers accompany boy and tiger to the bakery and - when the tiger gets a toothache - to the dentist. Sparse text allows the reader to fully appreciate the beautiful illustrations and contemplate how he would handle a tiger. My Tiger is a great book for reading and discussing! Or just taking a picture walk. I love the illustrations that much!
