I love the setup of the book, with questions introducing each two-page spread's topic, and chunks of text explaining important and interesting information. Conversational in tone, the text is accessible to young readers without simplification. I also really appreciate that some questions are clearly addressed to the audience and left unanswered, prompting the readers to analyze and reflect on the justness of animal experimentation or impact of mythologies demonizing certain creatures. Jones and Caldwell have created an exemplary guide to great apes. It is awesome!
