Race to the South Pole is a pretty neat book. It is two sides of a story - a true story - and you flip the book over to read the other perspective. Race tells the story of Amundsen's and Scott's journeys to find the geographic location of the south pole in gripping narrative. Augmenting the story are sidebars and captioned illustrations depicting important details like what rations each man had or which route each team followed. Kids interested in extremes or exploration will be well served by this one!
