A Miracle: The Story of Isa Ibn Maryam
Written by Hanifa Rahman
Illustrated by Eman Salem
Published by Kube Publishing
Mom's Review
A Miracle narrates the life of the Prophet Isa (whom Christians will recognize as Jesus). Accompanying beautiful illustrations, the meter and rhyme scheme make for a flowing read-aloud that begins with the conception of Maryam, his mother, and ends with the expectation of his coming again. The author balances retelling well known events of his life with expounding the message of Jesus. The blurb on the back identifies the author's aim to "educate young readers on the Islamic narrative of Prophet Isa's life," and I would say that the author and illustrator do an exceptional job of this. A Miracle would be an excellent addition to any child's library.
