The Bowing of the Stars: Patience, Trust, and Forgiveness from Surah Yusuf, The Qur'an's Best of StoriesWritten by Mehded Maryam Sinclair

Mom's Review
The Bowing of the Stars is a vividly and beautifully narrated Qur'anic tale of Yusuf, whom I quickly recognized as Joseph from the biblical tales. It was really interesting to read as a story from the Qur'an what I know as a story from the Bible. The lovely illustrations accompany a rich text which transports the reader to Yusuf's side; one could see him being thrown in the well, sold as a slave, taken to Egypt, and ultimately reuniting with his family. If you read from an atheistic perspective, it is an exciting and suspenseful story with a satisfying ending. If you read from a Christian perspective, it is a fascinating exercise in comparing faith traditions. And if you read from a Muslim perspective, I imagine you would appreciate the excellent retelling of a well-known Qur'anic tale. The Bowing of the Stars is stellar in every way.
