Meeselphe
By Claude Ponti
Translated from the French by Alyson Waters and Margot Kerlidou

Mom's Review
T and I both loved seeing Blaze the Masked Chicklet from another Ponti book! And the landscape is just what you'd expect and want from Ponti! The book is absurd and fantastical, and the more I think about it, the more I realize that Ponti recalls to my mind the Jim Henson movies from my childhood - totally outside the bounds of average imagination to the point of captivating fantasy.
This French import is a totally odd, magical delight - an ode to the daily adventures and wonders of life if we look around with an attitude of curiosity and withhold judgement based on appearance. Meeselphe's journey across the land on the ground brings her satisfaction in learning and broadening her experience of the world. An admirable example to set.
