Message in the Mooncake: A Legend from Ancient China

Mom's Review
Message in the Mooncake is a delightfully illustrated story of courage. When Mongols control a Chinese village, it is up to one little girl to notify residents of planned revolt. The little girl outwits soldiers and navigates terrifying terrain to succeed. The story is exciting, and a young audience will love little Su-Ling - she is a relatable and likeable girl. Children (and their adults) will appreciate how Liu draws a faint tiger shadowing Su-Ling, whose father calls her his "brave little tiger," and who sees herself like the majestic and strong great cat.
Don't miss the back matter after you read this great selection for the Mid-Autumn Festival or any time.
