Mom's Review

Mousse is so relatable - he just wants to sip his coffee and watch the sea in solitude.

A Day with Mousse
details Mousse's reaction to an uninvited visitor who disrupts daily life for several days. Mousse's compassion, after initial irritation, wins out, and our usually-solitary hero (we don't know exactly what kind of creature Mousse is, other than a sock-wearing striped being who loves the sea) cares for the visitor with a head cold until he is well again. The ending appears to be bittersweet with the visitor's departure, but the reader learns a secret that will be revealed to Mousse after the book's conclusion.

A beautiful story about loving and serving a neighbor in need and choosing kindness over an impulse toward selfishness.
