Review
You may recall that I reviewed a fun kids' sci-fi book with a relatable and likable girl protagonist living aboard a space ship. Well...that girl's back in Eudora Space Kid: The Lobster Tale. (And she falls right in line with my aim to bring you loads of women in literature, history, and mythology this year!)
In this second installment of the Eudora series, the hijinks continue. Eudora sweeps her best friend Arnold up in her plan to "enhance" a battle simulation; since she is a computer whiz and small enough to fit through the air vents that lead to otherwise-locked computer rooms, she succeeds in her enterprise and blasts dance music through the ship. Eudora's deadpan narration of the bridge officers explaining "booty" to the unknowing alien captain is hilarious. In fact, it is the tone in which Eudora narrates her adventures that makes the novel so engaging. Young readers will relate to her narrative style - it is filled with small asides, questions, and perpetual uncertainty about spelling "lieutenant."

Eudora Space Kid: The Lobster Tale is the exciting second installment in a unique early chapter book series.
