I have now been subjected to weeks of butt-sniffing and poop-sniffing commentary. *eye-roll* Thanks, Thames and Hudson.

Butt I really do like Why do dogs sniff butts? In fact, I like it immensely. It's set up in two-page spreads covering different topics. Each topic is introduced with a question and answer. A fun illustration covers the spread, with tidbits of information fleshing out the answer to each question. Topics range from why dogs sniff butts to dog sizes, working dogs, and even what dogs do when they are home alone (it's not sledding down the stairs, but just as mischievous).

T loved pointing out different dogs in each illustration as we read, commenting on their relation to the text, "I bet these are the puppies the dog is digging the den for," or, "This looks like the biggest dog ever!" T and I both learned a wealth of information about dogs, like why Westies' nails grow so fast (because as pest-hunters they wear down their nails digging). T and I have a lot of fun chatting about the dogs as we read, pulling up YouTube videos of Mishka saying,"I love you," and gushing over Boo's cuteness.

Why do dogs sniff butts? has an attention-grabbing title for sure, but you'll find a treasure trove of knowledge inside.

I can't believe how long that book was! That's a good thing! It's about cute doggies and funny things. It's really funny how the dog says, "I love you." I thought the [the dog doing cannonballs] was really funny. My very favorite dog is Miracle Milly because it's so cute! I thought [Boo] was so cool how he had his own website.

I am learning so many things! My favorite is why do dogs sniff butts. I learned that dogs sniff butts, that a dog had a website, and that the smallest dog in the whole wide world is called Miracle Milly.
