Mom's Review

For starters, these are red pandas, so that's already a point in the book's favor, regardless of anything else! Then if you look at the content, you'll find that Emerson has perfectly captured the feelings of a doting older sibling who loves their younger sibling...until. The audience sees the efficacy of using words to name emotions and that all the little sister's feelings are validated. If you've been following us for a while, you may recall I usually lean toward human characters in feelings books for little ones. However, this anthropomorphized panda one very realistically demonstrates the siblings' bond, the difficulty we sometimes encounter when articulating our emotions, and that naming our feelings helps us understand and process what we experience.

Big, Big Feelings
is a win for the emotions genre for little ones!
