Mom's Review
I flew through The Secret of the Lady's Maid, so captivating were the characters and the unfolding mystery. In this second Useful Woman Mystery from Kensington (Wilde has written several others), Rosalind Thorne investigates a poisoning that possibly overlaps with political intrigue her beau amongst the Bow Street Runners is investigating. In addition to the overlap of Thorne's and Harkness's investigations, there is a connection between Thorne's maid and the poisoned party. Readers are confronted with a veritable web of mystery that unfolds in a delightfully twisting fashion. In true cozy style, the interpersonal relationships are no less important than the mystery itself. Without spoiling anything, I will simply say that Wilde doesn't let you down.

For fans of mystery, history, and strong female leads, I strongly recommend The Secret of the Lady's Maid.
