A Field Guide to Winter
brings the magic of the season alive. Poems, scientific explanations, crafts - this guide really is comprehensive. Whether you want to make ice art, read by candlelight, track a fox, or understand what the solstice is, this has you covered. This would be so much fun to work through with one's kid. While aimed at the lower grades, the activities are adaptable for any age. We already look for animal tracks in the snow, for example. I would say I can't wait for snow, but we have a winter storm watch for tonight, so I don't want to tempt fate.
