Kadooboo!
is an adorable and funny variation of a South Indian folktale the author's grandmother would tell her.

Little Kabir is given a new sweet, kadooboo, to share with is mom. As he runs home, repeating the name, he passes friends who invite him to different activities, distracting him from his repetition and causing him to make hilarious changes to "kadooboo" with each distraction. Kabir invites each friend to come along to share in the treat; when they all arrive at his home, everyone calls the treat by a different name. Kabir is endearing in his efforts to get the treat to his mom while it is still fresh and remember its name correctly, and in his generosity in sharing the treat with many friends (there is a large enough batch of the kadooboo to be shared pleasantly - he's not shorting his mom in favor of his friends).

Amity is palpable as Kabir runs through the streets, enveloping the reader in the warmth of friendship and underscoring the universal enjoyment of good food and friends. The final page will elicit laughter and smiles.
