Harriet Tubman is a biography for young readers. Readers will learn about Harriet's experience as a young slave, as a free woman, and as a conductor on the Underground Railroad. It offers a wealth of information.
Like Susan B. Anthony, Harriet Tubman includes bold photographs and artwork and is divided into short chapters. Within each chapter, key vocabulary is highlighted and defined in caption boxes, as are quotes from Tubman. A quiz at the end of the book engages readers further. The scaffolding is spot on! Because it is a Level 2 reader, it is clearly not for T yet, but he can still pick out words he knows, enjoy being read to, and take in the photographs. Not to mention learning about a woman whom we cannot laud enough!
T has lately begun reading to his grandparents over FaceTime, and heaven help me if I try to guide his book selection. Today, he picked Harriet Tubman right away when asked to set out 3 good books for tomorrow. (For context, the other two he picked were Pete the Cat and a Toy Story 2 books.)

I liked learning about Harriet Tubman. I learned all about her in this book. I liked the Quiz Whiz. I want to learn the "words to know."
What people should know about the book: That it's about, "Don't own slaves!"
Why Harriet Tubman is important: Because she helped free slaves.
How T felt while reading: Happy that slaves are free. And sad that she had to move to another county [another part of the country].
What T thinks of Harriet Tubman: I think she is smart.
